Domain Names and The Web - Space Age is yet to come
- 2 Comment
Are we still in the early states of the internet?
Have we seen all the power of the web?
Well, if we go by a latest article published in the Guardian news site, you will understand why we ain’t seen nothing yet. In fact, we are still in the early states of the internet.
Here are some quotes from the article:
If you thought the internet was cool, wait until it goes space age
A founding father of the web says it’s come a long way, but its potential for worldwide change can and will be greater still.

Well, Vint Cerf is the founding father of the internet who has these views about how internet will change the way we live today.
Just imagine:
- Billions of more people will access the internet in future than today.
- Millions of additional web appliances with full access capability will be available in future than today such as smart PCs, smart phones, iPhone, etc.
- New generation will use internet way more for everyday life than today.
- Millions of ideas and domain names that are parked today will become nice websites in future.
- New modular softwares and applications will make it easy to develop great websites with few clicks of a mouse.
- And (fill in the blanks here …. only our imagination can limit us)
Internet is still taking the baby steps. It has a long way to go.
I don’t think internet will ever become fully matured.
It will always be a work-in-progress.
It is a race with no finish line and that’s why the internet is so cool because we can have millions of winners in the internet age, instead of just one winner.
What are your thoughts?

The internet has a LONG way to go.
This is what will happen in the next 20 - 100 years from now if Humanity will still exist:
The Media will broadcast it’s News via the Net to a Global audience not limited to Nations (for now the limit is the particular language since not all people can understand English, German, Croatian or otherwise but if the New World Order - the Hardcore capitalists have it their way there will be ONLY one language of communication on this planet earth).
Since the world economy is driven by credit, cash will cease to exist and all the money will be digitalized (like credit cards) so the people in the world will have their personal details stored online so every purchase they make can be monitored by the Government.
The homes where people live will have sensor activated commands so let’s say that you are coming home you would be able to program the right temperature in your home via the net and it will be set.
From home you would be able to place life calls to family / friends anywhere in the world via the net including calls to other planets where people will live.
The Government could control your every move since wireless devices can be connected to the net to monitor the population – the mark of the beast
Have Fun

Oh yeah, we have not even seen 10% of the full potential of the internet.
It is a great mystery unfolding every day and will continuw to do so for a long long time to come.

Domain space will change continuously after ICANN starts allocating new TLDs, even though there will hardly be any effect on the dominance of .com extension.
