ObamaMobile.mobi - So is Obama for Change?

Even though I am not decided yet who is the best presidential candidate for USA, but I must admit that Obama’s team does carefully seem to plan his agenda and initiatives. I was talking with a friend about Obama’s choice of domain name for his mobile web site called www.ObamaMobile.mobi and he started laughing and quipped:

Don’t you know Obama is for change?

And it just occurred to me that perhaps, that’s the reason Obama went with a .mobi domain name for his mobile website instead of a .com forwarded to a sub-domain of the dot-com. 

Dot-mobi has lots of high end brand name sites but not anything as political and controversial as Obama himslef. The man is subject to one controversy (good or bad, whatever) after another and I can see his mobile website getting lots of attention over next 4 months which can only be a good thing for the dot-mobi-extension. Or lets say, it won’t harm the .mobi extension

I don’t like the domain ‘Obama Mobile’ too much. I would have preferred Barack.Mobi or Obama.mobi or BarackObama.mobi etc. Perhaps it will turn out to be a little blessings for .mobi which do need some serious publicity.

Do you think ObamaMobile.mobi would help .mobi raise public awareness about the mobi extension?
